EU-parliament receivedenvironmental arguments
The environmental communication project has produced five fact sheets with environmental
messages to be spread among politicians and other opinion influencers. The fact sheets were presented at a CEI-Bois (The European Confederation of woodworking industries) information meeting for ministers of the European parliament in Brussels on Monday 22 November. Fact sheets were also sent to members of the parliament that were prevented from coming. Fact sheets were also sent to all NTC members in the beginning of December.

European facade winners report

from prize trip


Japanese academics and designers are interested in how timber can be more economically employed.That and many other things the UK architects John Romer and Robin Nicholson discovered on their winning trip to Japan in October. The trip was first prize in the European wood magazine, Building Europe’s facade contest.

 

 

 


Building a beat – winners announced December 2004

Following the success of the previous years Design a Bridge competition a second competition for young engineers has been launched in partnership with Young Engineers and New Civil Engineer magazine. The brief for Building a Beat is to design a covered stage with a cantilevered roof.
